Holiday Inn Express (Baruna Bali) review

So we went to Bali to experience one of the beautiful islands of Indonesia and man, they have a lot to offer. Planning our whole itinerary, there are many other beautiful hotels around (especially in other areas) but the one we got to stay in was here. We never expected anything but boy, they delivered big time.

Holiday Inn (Express) Baruna Bali is just beside the Holiday Inn (Resort). They are different from each other but assumingly under one umbrella. Dad selected this hotel because it is only a 5-min. away drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport - the airport where we landed.

We needed to do an early check-in since our flight's arrival time was really early. We arrived at the hotel around 8:00 AM and the check-in time starts at 3:00 PM. We were blessed enough to have an empty room available after an hour and were welcomed to their buffet breakfast while waiting ALL free of charge. Why? Read below.

* We may have miscommunicated regarding the airport transfer as to we were not picked up upon arrival at the airport. But as a tip, make sure to coordinate the airport transfer with them DIRECTLY via email or contact them using any of their other contact information after reserving or booking room(s). We reserved ours thru the IHG website, was redirected here, hence losing direct touch with the hotel.  We used the airport taxi service to get here via the taxi service counter found just before getting outside the airport premises. Well, it seems selecting a hotel not that far from the airport is very handy.

They have a lot of varieties in here for their 6:30 to 10:30 AM breakfast buffet which includes main local dishes like Nasi gorengs, fruits, cereals, coffee, tea, juices, and more, from all the given above. Holiday Inn Express Baruna Bali garden

After refuelling, we directly went to our early checked-in room and it had everything we needed plus this beautiful view of their garden on the window. We actually had a short nap here because day 1 starts today! The same day as our arrival date. Let's go!

I know you'll ask next what their other amenities are since their centerpiece is their garden which usually are swimming pool. Again, this is an "express" version of their hotels perfect for people like us who spend little time on hotel amenities. But don't worry, they have a pool on the top floor and it's an infinity one. Let's start from the bottom floor first going up:

As you can see from the views, the location of the hotel is near the beach (walking distance) and many food and commercial establishments are around the area so getting local food and other grocery items is not a problem at all.

Our experience here is generally all good and would not mind booking again whenever we visit Bali the next time. Would I recommend them? Yes, I would given the circumstances and factors above.
