One of the most popular streets here in Marikina is this Lilac street because of having so many food establishments present in a single strip. There are so many to choose from but if you are craving some Japanese cuisine that is not only affordable but tastes great, they are a really good choice from the rest.

Tenichi Japanese Fusion

Tenichi is a Japanese fusion restaurant that is one of the first food places you'll see if you are going through Lilac street coming from General Ordoñez Avenue. They are known to have delicious food at very affordable rates. They also serve a unique pizza roll experience where you'll literally roll your pizza before eating them so make sure to watch the video below for it.

Their place is quite simple which makes everything very light and comfy. Their parking space around is a plus because it was directly a few inches away from the highway. They also have a lot of tables and chairs (including their 2nd-floor area) so visiting them with friends and family would not be a problem. In fact, when we were there, large groups were coming from time to time and they were all served smoothly but I bet they all placed reservations in advance.

To be honest, I was not expecting a lot since I have a previous experience of being hyped by a food place located here too, and did not deliver very well. But surprisingly, our experience here was different and now understand why they would stand out from the rest if they continue to do what they are doing. By the way, we visited them because they were recommended by our aunt, so tita, thanks for the tip!

The Tonkatsu rice was my order (as always) and it was good. Though I find the serving a bit small, the taste balanced it. The Tonkatsu sauce was flavorful and I just can't get enough of the veggies on the side. I forgot to request more of it! Lol. I seldom eat greenies but when I do, I want a lot of them!

All of their ramens got great feedback from the group but what stood out from our visit was this unique pizza roll experience. Who would have taught that just adding some greenies and rolling these pizza slices would create something interesting?

The combination of the flavors just created something new. And with your own participation in putting the greenies and rolling the pizza all over it makes the experience something to look forward to. It tasted really great and I even ate 2 servings despite having my own Tonkatsu rice meal already. Man, it seems I need to do some extra push on sweating it out after this.

Aside from having a cute place, their staff is also pretty welcoming. I like their initiatives and fast service. Great job, Tenichi! Now I know why people are recommending you. I would definitely go back to roll some more pizza with some new friends on my next visit.
