If you are looking for a cheesy food trip, might as well prioritize visiting this establishment since they offer one of the cheesiest experiences we ever had. One of their flagship product is called "Nachos ala bomba" where they pour fresh and hot lava cheese on top of the nachos in front of you. So, are you game with that kind of food experience?

La Carnita, a modern Mexican cantina, offers Mexican menu in a modern way. They actually have a lot of branches but the one we visited was at Loyola Heights, Quezon City where they sit across the Ateneo grounds.
The branch is located on the ground floor of the Loyola Heights Condominium where it can be accessed just by turning a single right from Katipunan Ave. going to Aurora Blvd. and then left to reach the specific street.

There are no designated parking slots so it's a first come first serve basis to use the empty parking spaces of the condomimium. The dining area can be a little bit compact especially when you visit during their peak hours (just like what we experienced) but thank you, Lord, as a group was on their way out when we arrived.
I initially thought that their place was an outdoor one (alfresco style) but it seems everything changed since they recently transferred location. I was pleased to know it was AC'ed though. Haha!
Moving forward, we ordered accordingly, and here are their menu boards for your viewing.

Everything was averagely priced and affordable. Actually, the serving sizes are quite big comparing it to other restaurants that serve pretty much the same thing. Well, this is all aside from tasting a different cuisine from our regulars, which is their Mexican specialties.
Their nachos ala bomba, one of their main guns, was served first since it is still considered an appetizer. The actual pouring of the cheese carpet added some exciting flavor to it and it made us taste it more delicious and interesting. Yes, I think the presentation added value to it overall. The poured lava cheese is a combination of Mexican beef, cilantro sauce, cheese sauce, cheddar & mozzarella. Man, once you start getting some pieces, you will be wanting more and more and it will get harder and harder to stop until there is nothing left.

We also order the following: chicken chimichanga (ala bomba), burrito wraps, tacos, quesadilla, mango brewed tea, and some smoked chickens
burrito wrap |
crispy tacos |
quesadilla |
All the wraps were stuffed and flavorful which is already enough to make you feel full. The dips (creamy cilantro dressing, cucumber salsa, and the chili el bomba sauce) help tickle the taste buds so you can make your wraps to your preferred version.
P.S. The cucumber salsa makes it more vegilicious! Just my personal take..
Their smoked chicken meal was simple. It was near to being flavorless but its roast texture compliments it. Just make sure to dip on either of the provided special sauces and you should be good. It's actually a good option for friends and family who are not a fan of Mexican food so at least they can have this instead.

This one was my order (chicken chimichanga ala bomba) and it served me big time. I was just overwhelmed with the cheese paired with rice but other than that, everything was great. It actually looks small here in this photo but don't be fooled as it is jam-packed with fillings and toppings. I even had a hard time finishing it because I feel so full already and the nachos ala bomba maybe the culprit. Lol.
I remember targeting their smoked ribs before our planned schedule but that did not happen on our actual visit. With so many things happening during our on-site visit, I ended up ordering anything "ala bomba" (bombed with the cheese carpet) since it was our first. Haha! "Ayun, nasabugan ng cheese". Anyway, maybe on our next.
Our trip here was actually refreshing since we got to taste something different. I would not mind going for another one and try their other offerings. Aside from the smoked ribs, I think the Jalapeño poppers would make the cut. Let's see. Haha!
