Little Italy in the Philippines? Well, I haven't personally visited Venice yet (which is the inspiration for this place) but one thing is for sure though, that it looks really nice and beautiful. Honestly, I never thought that canals can be this grand.. Who would have thought that it can even become a tourist spot in another country, right? But after visiting this place, no wonder it did.

Venice Grand Canal Mall can be found in McKinley hill at Taguig City. It is an alfresco-type mall that houses upscale shops and restaurants that will accompany you while you stroll to this Venice-inspired setting.
Well, we know that the Philippines is quite known for having numerous gigantic malls but this one is positioning itself in a different league. And true enough as to what it is known for and what it wants to project, it really is a sight to see and vibe to feel in person.

Wandering around here is very entertaining as it is not the usual view I am used to. I was really impressed by how clean everything looked including how blue the water is. Every corner was neat and things were in place which states the obvious that the whole establishment was clearly well planned and organized.
By the way, the waterways are not just for the eyes or aesthetics because you can actually ride a gondola as part of their entertainment here. How awesome, right?!
bridges and gondolas |
Another attraction here is the love bridge where you can leave love locks just like in the real Venice bridges. Whether what kind of love would that be (family, friendly or romantic), you can leave a print here and may come back for it anytime in the future for that memorable reminisce.

Feel free to stop by from time to time and enjoy the scenery here because why not, right? Hehe. There are scattered tables and chairs in selected areas so make sure to make the most out of them. It is not every day that you'll have views like these.

There will be a lot of options to shop and eat at but I do recommend roaming the whole place first before making some decisions. The place is quite manageable as you can easily check the whole place in a few moments.
For us that time, we had our lunch at Mann Hann.

We also had some Starbucks for dessert as we check the place more and feel the Venice-inspired site.

Prepare yourselves for this outdoor park inside the establishment because this will give you the bellissimo vibe as you get surrounded by many colorful shops, different food choices, and some child-friendly entertainment while they play some Italian songs in the background.
Aside from some Instragammable signage that can be found here, we also saw doves that can be fed completing that Venice-inspired experience. Lol! So make sure to ready those cameras and of course, those striking poses in advance.

If they will be holding some special food bazaars and mini-concerts, this should be the perfect venue without a doubt.
And don't forget the mall. Yes, they still have the regular mall (what we are used to) but still, and of course, with the touch of ze Italian vibe. But I think this one still lacks a few more plants, right? Kidding! I am digging this scenery already! Great job to the team behind it!

And lastly, if those are not enough for you.. there are some open art galleries around to see which one of them is located just right after this photogenic bridge surrounded by water.

With such beautiful views already, I wonder how much can it get when we visit it at night time. Well, at least we have a reason to go back! Haha! Anyway, watch this video below to see them in action:

there was one point that we frequent venice because my mom and brother lived in an opposite condo there. kaya we loved it there talaga. kahit until now litong lito ako hahaha!! we recently visited actually!
ReplyDeleteWe live near Venice Grand Canal and it's quite enjoyable for me when there are a few people around. Reminds me a lot of ATC in Alabang. It used to get so crowded on weekends pre-pandemic, people from provinces come in droves then -- and it was so hard to get a cab from there on Saturdays, so we just walk home which we enjoy anyway. We go there usually so we can eat at Juan's Bistro.
ReplyDeleteI took my parents to Venice Grand Canal two weeks ago for their anniversary at nag enjoy naman sila sa Gondola ride. Mas calm ang mall compared to when I last went there 2 years ago na sobrang daming tao lalo na pag weekend. Yikes!
ReplyDeletePS: Mas "romantic" ang vibes pag gabi 😉
Daming kwento about the place!
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I haven't been to Venice Grand Canal Mall yet. I'll visit it once I get the chance to go to BGC.
ReplyDeleteI've been there just few times, and the last time we went there medyo bago pa yung place. Wala pang gondola! It's been years since we went there kase ang layo niya from QC! But definitely want to go back there hopefully after giving birth. It's very instagrammable!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place it looks so picturesque . It must have been so nice to spend time there and get feel for Venice in your own country. (Nayna Kanabar)
ReplyDeleteIt's been years since my last visit at Venice Grand Canal Mall! Halos walang nagbago except parang mas hindi crowded based on your video. The view of the Venice Grand Canal is similar to the grand canal sa Tokyo Disney Sea. Mas hawig siya actually.
ReplyDeleteWent there with the kids pre-pandemic. Wala pa ang love bridge non and that day the boating was not available. Nice to see dami ng improvements.
ReplyDeletebeen here only once when it was still fairly new. konti pa lang restos nun na open. the water looks so clean in your photos. i hope it is once again filled with many people wanting to ride their gondolas.
